Presenting

Thoroughly Modern Millie

Alton Assembly Rooms 3-6th March 7.30pm with a 2.30pm Matinee on Saturday 6th March

Thoroughly Modern Millie is a Tony award winning musical with music by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan, and a book by Richard Morris and Scanlan Based on the 1967 film of the same name Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love – a thoroughly modern aim in 1922, when women were just entering the workforce. Millie soon begins to take to delight in the flapper lifestyle, but problems arise when she checks into a hotel owned by the leader of a white slavery ring in China

STOP PRESS
The Box Office for Thoroughly Modern Millie opened on Monday 8th February. Rehearsals are in full swing, in more ways than one, after the "minor" disruption caused by January’s snows. With the cast now "off book", costumes & props coming together and three successful Sunday rehearsals under our belts, we’ve even had time to block the curtain calls! Tickets are selling well for Friday and Saturday nights, and although Wednesday and Thursday’s sales need a push, Saturday’s matinee is already half full before the box office opened. Tickets now on sale at Altonian Coaches, Westbrook Walk, Alton, 01420 84845.
